Maple leaves casting a shade upon our faces
The sun on your hand
Looking at the book you read
Filled with the stories of a faraway land
Afternoon breeze flowing by, touching the flowers
They sway on the grass
Flying high above the sky, leaving behind the place they once were
The swallows go past
Four o'clock, time has stopped
For now, with just the two of us
Under this tree, blissfully
In peace, secret playground
But time has passed, the place we knew
So close to heart, now overgrown
And time will pass, the place we knew
So close to heart, now overgrown
Hear what I have to say when the time has come
With all the things that we've been through all those years
Shoot for the moon, and fall into space
Winter is long here on Earth...
Leave me behind, but don't leave it all
The sun will rise over the shore
Lay down your head, and dream of the day
Our flowers would bloom in the rain
Shoot for the moon, and fall into space
Winter is long here on Earth
Somewhere out there, a distance away
Playing the song of rebirth

Discovering this album has been one of the surprises of 2021, not least because I can't believe I hadn't found it before. It has echoes of some of the finest prog rock bands from the 1970s, with superb instrumentation and arrangements, and vocal harmonies that would be the envy of many a musician. followjohnreed
